PRACTICALITIES
LOCATIONS
I run private practices in Gloucestershire and in London. In Gloucestershire I am based at The Practice Rooms in Cheltenham GL50 and the Courtyard Clinic in Dursley GL11 in the heart of the Cotswolds. These are within easy reach of Gloucester, Tewkesbury, Stonehouse, Stroud, Nailsworth, Wotton-Under-Edge, Tetbury and Cirencester.
In London I work from City Road Therapy in Islington EC1V, just a couple of minutes walk from Angel tube station and within easy access of Highbury, Holloway, Stoke Newington, Old Street, Clerkenwell, King’s Cross and Euston.
WORKING ONLINE
As well as working in person I do much of my work online via Zoom (or Skype / Facetime if preferred). The dynamics are slightly different to meeting face-to-face, but this can be just as effective a way of working.
WALKING AND TALKING OUTSIDE
With some clients it feels appropriate to meet outside in nature rather than within the confines of a consulting room. This takes place in a peaceful valley on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment. When someone is interested in doing this, we will always discuss motivation and expectations before moving outside.
DURATION
Sessions last 50 minutes (60 minutes for outside).
PAYMENT
I operate a sliding scale for fees, which enables me to work with people of different financial means. This ranges from £95 to £65. We will have a discussion about the amount you are able to pay when we first meet. Fees are payable in advance or on the day. The initial session costs a flat rate of £65.
WORKING WITH INSURERS
Sometimes people have health insurance which covers counselling or psychotherapy support. I am a registered provider with Aviva and AXA PPP Healthcare and have also worked with clients covered by a number of other insurance companies over the years. If you think you might be able to claim back the costs of therapy then please check with your healthcare provider.
